Main Functions
The working principle of the radio frequency admittance level switch is based on radio frequency (RF) capacitive technology. A radio frequency is applied to the probe and, through continuous analysis, the effects caused by the surrounding environment are determined. Since all materials have a dielectric constant and their conductivity is different from that of air, when the probe is in contact with the material, the total impedance reflected by the small capacitance shift changes. Because the energized probe and the container wall constitute the two polar plates of the capacitor, the insulator of the probe and the surrounding air become the dielectric material, when the air (whose dielectric constant is 1.0) is replaced by any other material (the dielectric constant > 1), The capacitive effect is enhanced, thus changing the impedance of the application. That is, the change of capacitance value causes the change of impedance. This effect is measured by the circuit and compared to the reference established by the sensitivity setting (circuit).
The correct setting of the sensitivity of the RF admittance level switch will affect the correct change of the sensor output. The Null-KoTeTM circuit of the probe can make the measurement circuit ignore the material accumulated on the probe. Otherwise it will cause the failure of sensitivity. The Null-KoTeTM circuit is excited with the same radio frequency potential applied to the sensing probe. Since current cannot flow at the same potential, the Null-KoTeTM circuit interrupts the flow of current that would normally flow from the energized probe through the bulk material to the vessel wall. This measures the material around the energized probe, not the accumulated material.
Application Scenarios
Chemical industry: Used for level detection of various chemical media (acids, alkalis, chemical solutions, etc.), adapting to harsh environments with corrosion and high temperature.
Coal and mining industry: Applied in coal bunkers, ore silos, and dust bins for level control, effectively avoiding false alarms caused by dust sticking and material deposition.
Food and pharmaceutical industry: Suitable for level detection of granular materials (flour, sugar, medicinal powder) and liquid materials (syrups, medicinal liquids), meeting hygiene and non-pollution requirements.
Metallurgical industry: Used in blast furnaces, sintering plants, and ore yards for level monitoring of high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-wear media.
Water treatment industry: Applied in sewage tanks, clear water tanks, and chemical reagent tanks for liquid level switching control, unaffected by medium humidity and density.
Building materials industry: Used for level detection of cement silos, sand bins, and stone bins, with anti-sticking and wear-resistant performance to adapt to dusty working conditions.
Petrochemical industry: Suitable for level detection of crude oil, diesel, lubricating oil, and other petroleum products, with high pressure resistance and stable output.
Grain and oil industry: Applied in grain silos, oil tanks, and oil depots for level control of grains, edible oil, and oilseeds, with easy installation and no calibration required.
Application Scope
The RF admittance switch is widely used in level detection and control of various media (solid particles, powder, liquid, paste, etc.) in industrial production, covering chemical, coal, food, metallurgy, water treatment, building materials, petrochemical, grain and oil and other industries. It is especially suitable for harsh working environments such as high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, dust, and easy material sticking.
